Hammers home in on Dutch champion

West Ham United, 10:40, May 4, 2010 ,

West Ham target Steve McClaren is considering 'several' offers to leave FC Twente after he led them to the Dutch title on Sunday.

The Hammers are believed to be strong suitors for the ex-England coach's services next season while clubs in Germany, Portugal and Turkey are also keen to employ him.
McClaren was raised shoulder high by his players after a 2-0 win over Den Haag confirmed their first ever Dutch Eredivisie crown and made the 'Wally with the Brolly' as he was dubbed after England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008 a hot property again.
The 49-year-old's record at Middlesbrough, where he guided them to the UEFA Cup final and won the Carling Cup while doing a good job in the transfer market, makes him an attractive proposition to the Hammers who are likely to announce the end of Gianfranco Zola's reign after the last match of the season.
"There are several offers I have received," he told German newspaper Bild.
"I am going to decide in the next couple of days what I am going to do next."
Wolfsburg are reported to be leading the chase to land him while FC Porto are also on the lookout for a new coach for next season.
