Hammers ponder sacking Grant
West Ham United,
Avram Grant could reportedly be sacked by West Ham before the club's FA Cup tie with Barnsley on Saturday.
The former Chelsea and Portsmouth boss is under even more pressure at Upton Park following the 5-0 defeat at Newcastle on Wednesday and there have been calls from some Hammers fans for the club to show him the door. The Hammers' co-owners, David Gold and David Sullivan, have publicly backed the man they appointed in the summer so far this season, but fresh reports suggest that the pair are now considering sacking Grant. West Ham are struggling at the bottom of the Premier League following the loss at St James' Park and appear destined to be involved in the relegation scrap in the second half of the season. Grant could yet get a stay of execution for the FA Cup clash with the Tykes this weekend, but a defeat would almost certainly end his hopes of staying in the job ahead of the Carling Cup semi-final first leg against Birmingham next week. Punters can use their free bet to back Barnsley to add to West Ham's woes with a win at Upton Park.
