McCarthy deal close

West Ham should complete the signing of Benni McCarthy from Blackburn Rovers today and Gianfranco Zola can't wait to get him on board.
The Hammers have been struggling up front and the injury to Carlton Cole, which saw him absent for the best part of two months, hit them hard but the England forward is close to full fitness and Zola is looking ahead to pairing him alongside McCarthy when the deal is eventually completed.
Work permit restrictions have so far held up the South African's move but they should be sorted today.
"I think it will be a good partnership because Cole is strong and skillful as well, so I think they will find a good combination," said Zola.
