Spurs set to move for Irons keeper

West Ham United, 10:39, November 18, 2008

West Ham are bracing themselves for a major January bid from Tottenham as they look to land keeper Robert Green.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has targeted a new keeper at White Hart Lane following yet another horror show from Heurelho Gomes on Saturday.

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola will be desperate to keep his number one but it is clear that the Hammers will have to sell players before any money is released for the Italian to spend on his own targets.

Green has been in outstanding form all season and was again in top form at the weekend as West Ham held Portsmouth to a 0-0 draw at Upton Park and was the pick of the two keepers ousting England number one David James.

Despite a good season for the Hammers Green is consistently frustrated on the international level where he continues to be overlooked by Fabio Capello.
