West in talks for striker
West Ham United,
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is understood to be on the verge of swooping for FC Copenhagen striker Nicolai Jorgensen.
Allardyce is keen to add some more firepower to his squad as the opening game of the new campaign fast approaches and it has been reported that representatives from both clubs are set to meet on Saturday.
Jorgensen started his career with local league club Skovlunde IF before moving to Copenhagen-based Akademisk Boldklub where he demonstrated enough quality to earn a move to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
However, two years into his five-year deal with the German club he was seen as surplus to requirements and found his way back to Denmark with the current Danish Superligaen champions.
The Hammers have already signed Andy Carroll on a permanent deal this summer but after the departure of Carlton Cole, the east London club could still do with an extra option to back up the England international.
