Big blow for Bruce on striker front
Wigan Athletic, 14:56, December 30, 2008 ,
Wigan striker Emile Heskey will miss Friday's FA Cup third-round tie against Spurs with a hamstring injury.
The England striker sustained the injury in Sunday's 1-0 win at Bolton and the Cup clash at White Hart Lane will come too soon for him.
Heskey underwent a scan today and, although the results are not yet known, boss Steve Bruce has already ruled him out of the Cup match.
"We don't know the extent of the damage to Emile's hamstring and we've no idea how long he will be out," he said.
Latics keeper Chris Kirkland, who missed the win at the Reebok Stadium with a back injury which he aggravated in the warm-up, is another doubt for the game.
