Bruce ponders transfer rethink
Wigan Athletic, 09:58, July 11, 2008 ,
Wigan manager Steve Bruce is ready to drop his interest in Egypt striker Amr Zaki, according to reports.
The 25-year-old has been forced to put his hopes of completing a dream move to the Premier League on hold after a dispute with his current club Zamalek.
Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas has vowed to stop the move and Zaki was dealt a further blow when the country's Football Association rejected his request to have his contract annulled.
He has now taken his case to world governing body Fifa and his agent Nader Shawki told FilGoal.com: "I cannot understand how (the FA) came to that decision.
"Fifa rules state that a player has the right to annul his contract if the club failed to fulfil its terms.
"That's why I have already started contacting Fifa and I am sure we will win the case."
