Bruce targets 'extra quality'
Wigan Athletic, 10:37, July 15, 2008 ,
Steve Bruce has confirmed he wants to add some "extra quality" to his Wigan squad before the start of the new season.
The JJB boss has made just one close-season signing with the capture of Daniel de Ridder from his old club Birmingham, although Hendry Thomas would have joined had it not been for the Home Office rejecting his application for a work permit.
Bruce has been linked with the likes of Olivier Kapo of Birmingham and Andy Johnson of Everton, while a deal to bring in Amr Zaki, initially on loan, could yet materialise.
However, Bruce says he is interested in quality not quantity and told the Evening Post: "It's a really decent squad so I don't think there will be a vast influx of new signings, just some extra quality added."
