Canaries cool on Latics loan

Wigan Athletic, 12:37, November 7, 2008 ,

Norwich boss Glenn Roeder is not planning a loan swoop for Wigan's Ryan Taylor but has refused to rule out a January bid.

Taylor has struggled to force his way into Steve Bruce's plans so far this term as, after recovering from a leg injury, he's made just one brief substitute appearance all season.
The defender was reported to be interesting Norwich but Bruce says he hasn't heard from the Canaries although he is keen for him to go out on loan to get some match action.
However, Roeder has moved to clarify the situation by stating: "He's a good player but that's just speculation. I'm certainly aware that he's a versatile player with Premier League experience but, of course, like all Premier League players, it comes at a cost of Premier League salaries as well.
"Sometimes people forget that there's a chasm between Premier League salaries and Championship salaries. As far as I'm concerned, he won't be turning up next week. What happens in the future, in January, who knows?"
