Cattermole mulling over future
Wigan Athletic, 12:39, June 15, 2009 ,
Sunderland target Lee Cattermole says he will consider his future at Wigan when he return from the European Under-21 Championships.
The Black Cats were linked with a move for the former Middlesbrough man at the weekend, with reports suggesting they were willing to make a £7million offer for the midfielder.
Cattermole said he was disappointed to see Steve Bruce leave Wigan and, despite admitting he would be willing to work with new boss Roberto Martinez at the DW Stadium, the 21-year-old claims he will be considering his future when he returns from international duty with England.
"I had a good year last year and Steve Bruce brought me to Wigan so it is a bit of a shame he has gone, but that's football," said Cattermole.
"Managers change, players change all the time so hopefully I'll be able to do the same for Martinez.
"I obviously really enjoyed last year and there's a lot of changes at Wigan, I think we have lost our manager and our staff now.
"I'm going to concentrate on the European Championships and get back, see what the situation is with Wigan and meet the new manager and see how it goes."
