Edman close to return

Wigan Athletic, 13:10, October 28, 2008 ,

Assistant manager Eric Black has revealed forgotten man Erik Edman is "right on course" to make his Wigan comeback.

The Swedish full-back has not kicked a competitive ball this season because of a serious knee injury but is well down the road to recovery and on target to return.
The former Tottenham man has rejoined the first-team squad for full training, although no date has been fixed for his first appearance this season.
"Erik is right on course as far as his recovery is concerned," said Black.
"I have never seen anyone quite so professional in their determination to recover from an injury.
"It's been a difficult time for him, with a lot of lonely training sessions for the last six or seven months, doing boring, repetitive exercises and stretches, but Erik has done that without complaining and deserves a lot of credit.
"Already he's done a bit of training with the main group and was moving fine in those sessions."
