Figueroa back for Black Cats

Wigan Athletic, 11:10, November 27, 2009

Maynor Figueroa looks set to replace left-back Erik Edman against Sunderland at the DW Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Edman was given a roasting at Spurs last weekend in the 9-1 drubbing as Aaron Lennon ran riot so Figueroa looks set to step back into the side.

The Honduran has been out with a knee injury but is ahead of schedule as boss Roberto Martinez picks from a full-strength squad.

The Spaniard must decide whether or not to promote the likes of Jordi Gomez and Jason Koumas from the bench.

Former boss Steve Bruce is set to return to the DW Stadium for the first time since joining the Black Cats.

However, Lee Cattermole will not face his old employers because of a knee problem.
