Full-back in line for return

Wigan Athletic, 10:49, November 6, 2009 ,

Defender Erik Edman is expected to return to the Wigan side for Sunday's home game with Fulham.

The Swedish full-back returned to full training this week after a recent bout of concussion and looks set to be in Roberto Martinez' starting line-up against the Cottagers at the DW Stadium.
Maynor Figueroa, however, remains on the sidelines with a knee injury so he again misses out.
Martinez has called on his side to wipe away the memory of last weekend's dismal 4-0 defeat against Portsmouth with a win against Roy Hodgson's side but he knows it will be a tough test.
He told the Evening Post: "It will be tough, but these are the kind of challenges we need and are looking forward to.
"Fulham have picked up European experience this season, they are on a very good run, and they have had fantastic results against Liverpool and Manchester City recently."
He added: "We have looked very strong for the most part at home this season, and we need to make sure we carry on showing that.
"We need to show the right attitude and the right focus to get a good result.
"We also need to make sure we learn from the painful lesson of last week."
