Wigan striker Emile Heskey could miss the next month with a hamstring strain to scupper his chances of a move away from the JJB.
The England striker has been linked with a whole host of Latics' Premier League rivals given the fact he is out of contract in the summer and unlikely to pen a new deal.
But the fact he suffered an injury setback and was forced off in the first half of the win at Bolton means Heskey might have to sit tight.
Boss Steve Bruce has claimed he has not yet received any bid for Heskey and he is hoping it stays that way.
"We do not yet know the extent of the damage of Emile's hamstring and we have no idea yet of how long he is going to be out," said Bruce.
"But he definitely will not play in Friday night's FA Cup tie at Tottenham. The good thing is that we have had no bids in for him, or anybody else here for that matter, and I just hope that continues all through January."
