Honduran linked with Wigan move

Wigan Athletic, 16:18, May 26, 2009 ,

Midfielder Hendry Thomas is confident he can follow in the footsteps of fellow countryman Wilson Palacios and seal a move to Wigan.

The Honduran midfielder has been linked with a Latics switch after impressing boss Steve Bruce and Thomas paid tribute to fellow Honduran Wilson Palacios for opening the door to a Premier League move.
"We have to see if we can move abroad, I think that we must wait and remain relaxed," Thomas told La Prensa. "Right now we have to celebrate the title.
"I have always said that nothing is concrete as long as they do not tell me on what day I must move. As far as I am concerned, I am ready to step up to foreign football and it may be my moment.
"Wigan's doors will always be open, which is also thanks to Wilson (Palacios), who has opened it to Honduran players so they can prove themselves in the English league."
Defensive midfielder Thomas currently plays for Honduran side Club Deportivo Olimpia but any move could hinge on the future of Bruce, who is being linked with a switch to Sunderland.
