Wigan assistant boss Graeme Jones looks set to stay although he remains among the favourites to take the Swansea City job.
Reports in South Wales today say Jones has turned down the opportunity to take over the reins at the Liberty Stadium following the departure of Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool. Jones is still the favourite with the bookmakers but his odds have drifted out from the strong odds-on quotes from most firms earlier this week. Roberto Martinez' highly-rated assistant met Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins this week, but it is being reported that Jones rejected the chance to take over, opting to stay at the DW Stadium. The Wigan boss will be delighted after he too rejected the chance to leave the club for pastures new, turning down the Liverpool job because he did not want to work with a director of football. Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is now being strongly tipped to get the Swansea job after rumours that he also held talks with Jenkins last week.
