Latics chief admits relief
Wigan Athletic, 10:21, November 25, 2008 ,
Steve Bruce expressed his relief after Wigan secured a 1-0 win against Everton on Monday to drag themselves out of the relegation zone.
Latics boss admitted there was some apprehension in the camp ahead of the JJB Stadium clash after results over the weekend left the side stuck in the bottom three positions. However Henri Camara's 51st-minute strike was enough for the three points which lifts them up to 15th position.
"We are delighted that we got the points for obvious reasons," said Bruce.
"We've not kicked a ball all weekend and there was a terrible wait before our game.
"That was arguably one of our poorest performances if I am being brutally honest.
"The result was the most important thing on a night like this."
