Latics wait on Dutch stopper

Skipper Mario Melchiot is rated 50-50 for Wigan's home clash against Everton after picking up a neck injury against Blackburn.
The Dutch defender suffered the problem when he collided with Rovers' Morten Gamst Pedersen in the Latics' 2-1 defeat at Ewood Park on Wednesday. Latics boss Roberto Martinez will give Melchiot as long as possible to prove his fitness ahead of the game at the DW Stadium.
Keeper Chris Kirkland is again missing with a collarbone problem so Vladimir Stojkovic will make his home debut for the club against the Toffees.
Elsewhere Martinez has no other injury or suspension problems to contend with.
