Marseille forward rubbishes Latics link

Wigan Athletic, 13:42, December 1, 2009

Marseille striker Mamadou Niang says he isn't interested in a move to Wigan and is happy to stay in France for now.

The Senegal international has attracted a number of admirers for his performances this season, with the Latics and Birmingham believed to be two of the clubs tracking his progress.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is thought to be considering making a move for Niang in January, but his efforts could be futile after the forward said he was only interested in playing for Marseille.

"I am always being linked with a move but to be honest and in reality I am here at Marseille enjoying my football," he told skysports.com.

"Let's wait and see what happens in the window or at the end of the season.

"My job is to focus on my current club, nothing else."
