West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo is reportedly eyeing a loan move for out-of-favour Wigan midfielder Jason Koumas.
Di Matteo is keen to strengthen his side's hopes of clinching automatic promotion this season and speculation in midweek is linking him with a bid to take Koumas back to the Hawthorns.
The Welsh midfielder, who made 141 appearances for the Baggies during a five-year spell, appears to be facing an uncertain future at the DW Stadium having made just two appearances for the Latics in the FA Cup since the turn of the year.
Albion are looking at several potential midfield options, with the ex-Tranmere man merely an option at this stage.
They may consider delaying any signings until next week, mindful that any loan deals at this stage can only remain for a maximum of 93 days which could rule him out of playing in the play-off final if West Brom don't secure promotion.
