Wigan are being linked with a £6million swoop for Middlesbrough striker Mido as doubts surround Emile Heskey's future.
Latics boss Steve Bruce is coming to terms with the fact that Heskey is likely to move on next summer when his contract runs out and he may even go in January if a rival club offer enough.
Aston Villa, Tottenham and Liverpool are among the club's known to be keen on Heskey and Bruce is bracing himself for one or two offers when the transfer window opens again.
Bruce is looking at replacements and reports claim he would like to link up Mido with fellow Egyptian striker Amr Zaki at the JJB Stadium. Mido is thought to be unsettled at Boro and Bruce could offer him the chance to play regular first-team football with Wigan.
