Scotland will be King again - Martinez

Wigan Athletic, 13:29, February 1, 2010 ,

Roberto Martinez is backing striker Jason Scotland to recapture his confidence after a disappointing show for Wigan against Everton.

The Latics boss watched as his former Swansea frontman extended his run without a Premier League goal in the 1-0 defeat to the Toffees at the DW Stadium on Saturday. And, after Scotland spurned several good chances to score in the game, Martinez firmly believes that he will come good in the top flight.
"He is a goalscorer and that is in his nature," he said.
"So when he gets into those situations and he's not himself, we need to make sure we change that feeling.
"But Jason is a strong character and he has been working really hard. All we need is to turn that corner quickly, and I'm sure the moment that he scores that first Premier League goal he will go into a run.
"It is important that in our play, we help Jason to get into those positions as many times as we can."
