Whelan blast Chelsea over Moses
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has told Chelsea to stop 'messing about' and offer the asking price if they want sign Victor Moses.
The Blues have been chasing Moses all summer but despite making several different offers, they have yet to agree a deal for the striker, and Whelan is losing patience.
The Latics chairman would like to keep Moses at the DW Stadium but accepts the player is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge and says he will sell if Chelsea match the £10million valuation.
However Chelsea appear reluctant to do that and Whelan says the transfer saga has been dragging on for far too long.
"Chelsea have got to make their mind up - yes or no - and at present they're messing about a little bit which is unusual for Chelsea because they're up front if they want someone," he told Sky Sports.
"They would usually go and make a bid and get the player. With Victor, Chelsea have come in with offers including payments later, etc. It's unusual for Chelsea because they're usually a very straightforward club.
"If they come with the fee, we'll sell him. If they don't, we'll keep him. I'd like to keep Victor - I think he'll benefit enormously from spending another season - or two or three seasons - under Roberto Martinez."
