Wigan have confirmed they have made a bid to sign Swansea striker Jason Scotland, who was signed for the Swans by Roberto Martinez.
Trinidad and Tobago star Scotland, who has 12 months left on his current Swansea deal, is rated at £3m by the Championship club after scoring 24 goals in all competitions last season.
The Latics were known to have asked Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins to be kept informed as to the player's future, with north-west rivals Burnley also interested in the frontman.
Scotland has not joined up with the Swansea squad at a pre-season training camp, adding to speculation that he could be on the move soon.
