James McArthur says he is confident Roberto Martinez will remain at Wigan, despite the reported interest of Tottenham.

The Spaniard has been linked with the vacant hot seat at White Hart Lane following Harry Redknapp's exit, although Spurs have yet to make contact with Latics. The rumours surrounding Martinez come just a few weeks after Liverpool headhunted him, the 38-year-old having become hot property after three excellent seasons at the DW Stadium. Despite the speculation, McArthur has stated that he is remaining calm over his manager's future and believes he will stay put. "As far as I know he is staying, and hopefully that is the case," McArthur told Wigan Today. "He's a brilliant manager and as players we obviously all want him to stay, to continue pushing the club forward and hopefully cracking on into that top 10. "Obviously with Harry Redknapp leaving Tottenham he'll be linked with that job - and whoever does take over he'll be linked with his old job. "He'll no doubt be linked with every other job that comes up this summer because of the fantastic work he's doing at Wigan. But that's no concern of ours at the moment."
