No deal on striker

Wolverhampton Wanderers, 08:54, November 3, 2009 ,

Wolves' hopes of landing Bournemouth's highly rated wonder kid Jayden Stockley have been ended by a new deal for the striker.

The youngster has been attracting interest from a host of other clubs, notabley Burnley, Birmingham and Portsmouth as well as Mick McCarthy's side but they have all missed out as the player has signed a new five year deal to keep him on the South Coast.
Stockley became the youngest player in Bournemouth's history earlier this season when he made his debut aged 16 years and 21 days and the 6ft 3 inch striker says he has heard of interest in his services but he is happy learning his trade where he is at the moment.
Stockley told the Daily Echo: "Eddie Howe said he'd like me to sign a five-year contract. I was speechless. It's everything I've worked for and it was the best day of my life.
"A lot of it has just been talk that I have heard, but I do know someone from the England under-16s has been watching. I think there were some Premier League clubs looking as well, but I don't know which ones other than what I have read.
"It's an honour to be linked with clubs at that level and it will make me raise my game. But I don't want to go anywhere because I'm at Bournemouth."
