No movement on Mancienne switch
Wolverhampton Wanderers, 17:06, July 28, 2010 ,
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has played down suggestions he will sign Michael Mancienne and says he needs to sell before he can buy.
Mancienne has been quoted as saying he wants a permanent switch to Molineux after two seasons on loan but no deal is in the pipeline at the minute, and McCarthy insists he is not planning to make a bid for the defender.
The Wolves chief has already drafted in six players this summer and says he will have to sell before he can add further to his squad.
After learning of the England Under-21 international's apparent desire to join Wolves permanently by handing in a transfer request at Stamford Bridge, McCarthy admitted he was in the dark over the player's intentions.
"If I was reading anything into it, I suggest he wants a transfer! But that's the first I've heard about it," he said.
"I'm not looking at signings at all at the moment. We need to lose some players rather than take any more in and certainly won't do any more business unless anyone leaves."
