In a week which has seen their top stars linked to the likes of QPR and Sunderland boss Terry Connor says they will fight to keep them.

Monday saw Karl Henry linked with a move to Sunderland, he was to be followed by Steven Fletcher at some point on Tuesday and then QPR were linked with a switch for Wayne Hennessey, who now has a knee ligament injury and faces an prolonged spell on the sidelines. Spurs are also interested in the Welsh international and striker Kevin Doyle is wanted by both Everton and Aston Villa. Despite the constant speculation about the players, current boss Connor does not believe their exit is a forgone conclusion, even if they go down. "I don't think it's a fact of life that you have to lose players or get 'cherry picked'," he told the Express and Star. "We'll be fighting tooth and nail to have our best team and our best players available - whatever league we're in. "We'll review this season at the end of it and the club might decide they want to do down a certain line."
