Striker deal edges nearer

Wolverhampton Wanderers, 09:04, June 3, 2010 ,

Wolves are in talks with Burnley's Scotland striker Steven Fletcher over a move to the club after a fee was apparently agreed.

Burnely had been holding out for £7m for the striker and with plenty of clubs looking to land him it looks as though they will get the money they are looking for.
Wolves sold Chris Iwelumo to Burnley on Tuesday for an 'undisclosed fee' although both sides claim this has no bearing on the Fletcher move.
Mick McCarthy will continue the talks with the player on Thursday and the hope is he will have agreed personal terms and the deal can be completed by the weekend.
