Former boss Mick McCarthy believes Steven Fletcher will leave the club this summer if Wolves, as expected, are relegated.
The drop to the Championship could be confirmed this weekend if Wolves lose at home to Manchester City, and other results go against them, and the former boss believes someone as good as Fletcher will move on.
McCarthy, in an interview with BBC Scotland, also believes Fletcher should patch up his differences with Scotland boss Craig Levein and play again at international level, but either way he is likely to be on his way this summer.
The former Wolves chief said: "Sadly, it looks like Wolves are going down and Steven Fletcher will be courted by teams in the top half of the table because he's a top player.
"I was his manager and I was concerned about a player of his ability not playing at international level. He should be recognised as a Scotland international."
Fletcher was linked with a move to Sunderland earlier in the week, but Terry Connor claims he will be fighting to keep his stars at the club.
