Striker setback for Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers, 15:02, March 3, 2010 ,

Wolves' Austrian forward Stefan Maierhofer has suffered a setback in his efforts to return to the side after picking up a bug.

The former Rapid Vienna striker was due to play in a friendly against Telford on Tuesday night where a strong Wolves side were comfortably beaten 4-0, but pulled out with illness.
Maierhofer has made just one Premier League start, away at Manchester United, since his £1.8m move last August and hopes of a appearing this weekend appear to be on the wane.
"He cried off on the morning with illness," development coach Steve Weaver told the Express and Star.
"He came in first thing and didn't look great.
"There's been a bit of illness going around and he saw the doctor.
"Some of the younger boys have been affected so he may have caught something off them because he was training with them at the weekend."
