Wolves star confident of survival
Wolverhampton Wanderers, 12:07, November 10, 2009 ,
Wolves defender Jody Craddock believes his side can still avoid relegation, despite dropping into the bottom three on Saturday.
Victories for Hull and Blackburn at the weekend, coupled with Wolves' 4-1 defeat to Arsenal, saw the Black Country side slip into the drop zone for the first time this year, going into the international break.
With no win in six games now and Chelsea to come in a fortnight, things are starting to look bleak for last year's Championship winners and they could well be bottom by the time they line up against Birmingham on November 29.
Craddock, who was part of the Wolves side that were relegated in 2004, says despite the heavy defeat to Premier League title contenders Arsenal, he believes Wolves are still good enough to stay up this season.
"We've got another massive game coming up, then we face Birmingham after that, so we've got to put this behind us," he said. "We don't need to worry about the position we're in, we just need to keep playing our football. Before Arsenal, we had drawn three games in a row and we were all thinking about how fantastic we'd done.
"We've just got to continue that form and keep performing. We've definitely got enough - we've got a good bunch of lads, and a young, hardworking team.
"We know it's not going to be easy - it's going to be tough, but we've got enough here to see us through. There's nothing we can do about the game - we lost this one - but we have to work towards the next game."
Despite currently being one from bottom, punters may fancy using their free bet to back Wolves to stay up after some battling displays against Aston Villa, Stoke and Everton in the three weeks before their defeat to Arsenal.
