Bloomfield backing Ainsworth
Matt Bloomfield is backing Gareth Ainsworth to be a success in his new role as player-coach at Wycombe.
Ainsworth, 39, agreed to take the role last month and long-serving midfielder Bloomfield says this convinced him to extend his stay, signing a new one-year deal on Thursday.
"I'm close with Gaz and get on really well with him," he told the club's official website.
"He's an inspirational guy and it helped that he's staying.
"He's been a really good player for this club and will go on to be a really good coach as well."
Ainsworth has been at the club since February 2010, joining after making two appearances on loan at Adams Park.
