Bloomfield pens new Chairboys deal

Matt Bloomfield has agreed a new one-year contract with Wycombe, including the option of a further 12 months.

Bloomfield, the club's longest-serving player, has become a firm fans' favourite since arriving from Ipswich in December 2003, making 285 appearances and scoring 26 goals. The 28-year-old midfielder told Wycombe's official website: "I think everyone knows my heart is here and I wanted to stay. It took a little while to get things sorted but it's done now and I'm really pleased. "I'm a creature of habit and like to feel comfortable in my surroundings, and I certainly feel comfortable here. It's been eight-and-a-half years and I love it here." Manager Gary Waddock added: "I'm absolutely delighted that Blooms has decided to stay. He's Wycombe through and through and we all know what he brings to the table. "He's fully committed to the cause, has got great energy and was one of our best performers at a higher level last season. He's a joy to work with."
