Defender to miss out

Arsene Wenger will be eager to check his international players fitness after losing Shkodran Mustafi to a thigh injury.

Arsenal will resume Premier League action this weekend with a trip to Watford on the back of an unbeaten run through seven outings in all competitions, with four successive victories.

However, the Gunners must do without the German defender Mustafi, who suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty and will be out of action for six weeks.

Summer signing Sead Kolasinac is a doubt for the weekend after picking up a hip problem while playing for Bosnia although Laurent Koscielny could play a part and he is set for a fitness test on Friday.

The Gunners will keep a close eye on forward Alexis Sanchez as he has had a long trek back to London following Chile's final World Cup qualifier against Brazil, which saw them lose 3-0 in Sao Paulo and miss out on a place in Russia next summer as a result.
