Gers make last-ditch bid to keep Arsenal target
Rangers boss Ally McCoist says he hasn't given up hope of persuading Arsenal target Madjid Bougherra to stay at Ibrox.
The Algerian defender has made it clear he intends to leave Rangers this summer and is currently on the look out for a Premier League club to take him on, with Arsenal thought to be leading the chase.
Newcastle and Bolton are also thought to be in the hunt for Bougherra, who still has a year left on his contract with the Scottish champions.
Despite stating he wants to move on McCoist hasn't thrown in the towel just yet and says he plans to sit down with Bougherra, along with Allan McGregor, Steven Davis and Steven Whittaker to discuss their futures.
"On the contract front, I have spoken to a few of the boys and the feedback on the talks has been positive. Hopefully we can get all the boys signed up on new contracts, including Madjid."
He added: "He is a player I definitely want to keep at the club."
