AZ agree deal to sign Norwegian teen starlet Evjen

Hamilton frontman Marios Ogkmpoe has been warned he is not guaranteed to get a starting slot against Livingston despite last week's Motherwell heroics.

AZ Alkmaar have agreed a deal with FK Bodo/Glimt to sign their teenage midfielder Hakon Evjen in the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder will sign a four-year contract with the Dutch Eredivisie outfit on the completion of the Norwegian season in December.

Evjen will then be available to feature for AZ in the second half of the current season.

The youngster, who is also able to operate as a striker, has impressed in his homeland, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 20 league appearances.

On his future move to AZ Alkmaar, he told his new club’s website: “I am very happy. AZ is a big and beautiful club. This is the right step for me as a football player. I look forward to getting started in January.”

Arne Slot’s AZ side have enjoyed a good start to the new Dutch season with three wins and a draw from their opening five games which leaves them fifth in the table – three points behind early leaders Ajax.
