Emery – Arsenal need to improve at the back

Arsenal boss Unai Emery believes his side need to improve at the back ahead of their meeting with Bournemouth.

The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 16 matches and confidence is high as they prepare to head to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Arsenal remain fifth in the table but they will hope that either Chelsea or Tottenham drop points when they play each other on Saturday night.

Some Arsenal fans are excited about the future under Emery and the former Sevilla coach insists he is pleased with his team’s recent form.

However, he has demanded more clean sheets as they try to cut the gap between themselves and league-leaders Manchester City.

He told Sky Sports: ‘Today I was speaking in the dressing room with the players for half an hour, different things, tactically and other things. We have scored 26 goals in the Premier League. That’s very good for us. But how many have we conceded? 15. That is a lot.

‘At the moment the balance is positive, but it is not enough. We need to keep the scoring statistic, but concede fewer chances and let in less goals. 16 games without losing, that’s fantastic. But the last three we have drawn. That is not enough at the moment.’

Bournemouth are also in fine form of late but Arsenal remain the favourites and punters can back them to win using their now.
