Burnley boss Sean Dyche believes his side have turned an important corner in their battle with relegation and are now on their way up.

The Clarets looked to be in all sorts of trouble when they were hammered 5-1 at home by Everton, leaving them in the bottom three and staring at the possibility of relegation.

They were then 10 points behind Brighton but, following the win at the Amex on Saturday night, the Clarets are now on level points with the Seagulls, and three points and three places clear of the bottom three as clubs fight to avoid the drop in the Premier League.

It is looking like the battle to avoid <a target=’_blank’ href=’https://www.betfair.

Dyche knows his side are by no means out of danger but he does feel they have turned a corner since that dark day at Christmas.

“It was a tough day on Boxing Day, we had to realign,” said Dyche.

“They [the players] take massive credit for that because in the next game against West Ham we were excellent and it floods back in very quickly.

“As a manager it’s really difficult to put your finger on it because you’re working diligently with the staff and the players.

When it comes back you can smell it and after West Ham you could feel it coming back in to the group.

” Dyche’s men suffered from being back into the action as early as June due to their early involvement in the much maligned Europa League.

They then made a dreadful start to the campaign in the Premier League after their success last season when they finished in their highest ever Premier League spot.

With a third of the season still to go, Dyche’s me could yet finish in the top half although they will be aware any more slip-ups and they could be right back in trouble.
