Nuno excited by strike pair’s potential
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has hailed the Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez partnership but feels all the players deserve praise.
The West Midlanders’ 2-1 victory over Watford on Saturday sees them sit in seventh spot in the Premier League table – three points clear of Leicester City and four ahead of the Hornets.
It means they hold all the aces in the race to be top dogs outside of the big six, with games against Fulham and Liverpool still to come before the players take a well-earned break.
The Molineux outfit have enjoyed an excellent return to England’s top division with Jimenez, who has bagged 13 goals, and Jota, who has nine to his name, a big part of proceedings.
Nuno recognises that the duo have been massive for his side and will only improve but does not feel it is a two-man team.
‘It is a small society and there are complicities between them and the more time they spend together training and competing, the better they will be,’ he told the club’s official website.
‘But it’s not only Raul and Diogo, it’s all the team.
I think we have a fantastic opportunity to become a better team for our future.
‘ Punters looking to use a free bet might fancy Wolves to down Fulham on Saturday while Watford will need to beat Chelsea on Sunday to try and secure the coveted seventh spot.
