Carsley wait for Blues

Birmingham are sweating on the fitness of Lee Carsley ahead of tonight's game against Crystal Palace, but Stephen Carr could start.

The midfielder picked up a knock during Saturday's defeat at Coventry and Blues boss Alex McLeish could have to do without the former Everton man against the Eagles.

McLeish has a whole host of injury problems to deal with ahead of the game with top scorer Kevin Phillips (hamstring), Garry O'Connor (groin), James McFadden (knee) and Stuart Parnaby (thigh) all out.

McLeish could however hand a debut to new signing Carr after he penned a short-term deal with the Blues on Monday.
