Craig Gardner and Liam Ridgewell are back from suspension and Cameron Jerome could also return for Birmingham at Spurs on Sunday.
Jerome may be available following treatment on a heel injury and although he is yet to train fully, boss Alex McLeish says he has made great progress this week.
The former Cardiff hitman's selfless running and presence was missed in last weekend's disappointing home defeat to Fulham.
Alex Hleb is definitely unavailable after undergoing knee surgery this week and David Bentley is ineligible to play against his parent club.
Martin Jiranek (ankle) and Lee Bowyer (hamstring) will undergo late fitness tests but McLeish will give Keith Fahey Bowyer's midfield berth if the ex-Leeds United and Newcastle player fails to make it.
Jordon Mutch, Nathan Redmond (back from international duty with England U17s) and Akwasi Asante are in contention for substitutes roles but Stuart Parnaby is sidelined with a groin injury.
