Forest first visitors to Ewood
Blackburn's first home game of the new Championship season is a meeting with Nottingham Forest on August 10.
Rovers already knew their first match is a trip to Derby after the Football League announced six special league fixtures to be played on the opening weekend to mark its 125th anniversary.
The Forest game is followed by a trip to League One champions Doncaster and then another meeting with South Yorkshire opposition as Barnsley head to Ewood Park on August 24.
The local derbies against Lancashire rivals Burnley take place on September 14 (away) and March 8 (home).
Rovers are at home on Boxing Day against Sheffield Wednesday and host Birmingham on December 29 before heading over the Pennines to face Leeds on New Year's Day.
The campaign ends with a home match against FA Cup holders Wigan on May 3.
