West Ham need to win their battle with relegation if they are to keep their top stars but, with just three games left, they are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and face an uphill task to stay in the top flight.
If they do go down then there is likely to be a major clear-out and clubs are thought to be lining up to take Ba away with Rovers, Sunderland and Aston Villa all thought to be interested in the striker.
Ba has scored five times in 11 appearances for West Ham since his arrival in January from German club Hoffenheim and is believed to be keen on staying in England.
He had initially been expected to join Stoke in the new year but failed a medical and the Hammers stepped in and signed him instead.
If he does leave Upton Park in the summer, the London club are likely to want around £3million for him - a figure Rovers would be happy to pay - provided they manage to avoid the drop as well.
