Bolton ponder Church move
Latest news update:
Bolton boss Owen Coyle has been linked with Reading striker Simon Church, but he will face competition if he makes a move.
Church struggled to secure regular football with the Royals last season and it seems certain he will be pushed further down the pecking order following Reading's promotion to the Premier League.
Reports claim the Wanderers boss is considering a swoop for the 23-year-old forward, with Leicester City also thought to be keen, although it remains to be seen whether or not Coyle will firm up his interest by making a concrete offer.
The Scot gave a detailed interview on the club's website following Bolton's relegation and indicated he was happy with his current attacking options of Kevin Davies, David Ngog and Marvin Sordell, who couldn't break into the first team this season, as he prepares for life in the Championship.
Ivan Klasnic was released by Coyle at the end of the season and the Bolton boss could be on the lookout for a replacement.
However, it would seem as if a centre-half is Coyle's top priority as David Wheater is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and Zat Knight is yet to commit his future to the club, leaving American Tim Ream as the club's only available recognised centre-half.
