Cook hoping for Cherries chance

Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook is hoping to enjoy a run of appearances in the Premier League after the international break.

The 20-year-old joined the Cherries in the summer of 2016 from Leeds on a four-year deal but was restricted to just six Premier League outings last term.

Cook made his first appearance of this season prior to the international break when Eddie Howe gave him the nod to start in the goalless draw with Leicester.

The England under-20 World Cup winner insists he is ready to be considered on a regular basis and hopes Howe will keep faith with him when they return to Premier League action against Tottenham on Saturday.

Cook said: "I was patient, kept learning and improving off the pitch and I thought I did all right (against Leicester City), I enjoyed it.

"Playing in the Premier League is the best thing, I have always wanted to do that since I was little. It's nice to have people wanting you to play and wanting to see you but it's up to the gaffer.

"When he thinks I am ready and able to play, I am ready."
