Fraser was handed a rare start during the derby clash with the Saints on Sunday and he rewarded boss Eddie Howe.
The Scotland international was on hand to open the scoring in the first-half with a neat finish from the edge of the box.
He made his first start since mid-September and now the 23-year-old has backed himself to push on ahead of a busy period.
"It's been a tough, tough time for me being out," Fraser told BBC Sport.
"But, before the game, the manager told me this was my chance so I knew if I had one on goal, I had to take it.
"It was such a good feeling. Instead of being happy, I was more relieved. I needed that to get my confidence back and after a couple more games, I think I will be flying again."
