Cherries boss Howe believes the south coast club's toughest challenge this month could prove to be retaining all their top talents.
The former Bournemouth defender insists no one at the Vitality Stadium is for sale this month, and hopes to be able to maintain the status quo in his squad as they look to safely stay clear of relegation trouble again in the second half of the Premier League season.
"I've made it very clear, no player is for sale in this window," said Howe. "Our biggest challenge is keeping our squad together. That's my target again first and foremost this January.
"If we can find a special player this January we'd do that. I wouldn't necessarily be happy with no changes, but I'd be content.
"But yes, I would favour a quiet transfer window for us. We're not massive players in the window as we sit here now.
"In some senses the only way we'll get involved is if we lose players."
