Bong ready to go silent

Brighton's Gaetan Bong says he will not be talking to any of his Everton friends ahead of Sunday's clash at the AMEX Stadium.

Bong has been hampered by a muscle problem for much of the season but he managed to make his first Premier League appearance of the season prior to the international in the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates.

The former Cameroon international is now hoping to be involved in the home clash against Everton on Sunday as the Seagulls looks to pile the pressure on opposing manager Ronald Koeman.

Any friendships between both sets of players will be put on hold with the 29-year-old left-back vowing not to speak to any of the Toffees players until the final whistle blows.

Bong told The Argus: "I have mates at Everton but I will not call them. I will see them after the game. At Arsenal I had Koscielny and (Olivier) Giroud who are very good friends. But we didn’t speak before the game. I didn't even call them.

"I wanted to concentrate on the game. This will be the same. We can always talk after the game. It is about rest and training."
