The Australian joined the Seagulls in the summer and, despite some sticky moments, has kept two clean sheets so far this season, a tally that has helped contribute to the club's decent start to life in the Premier League.
David Stockdale's departure meant Chris Hughton needed to replenish his goalkeeping ranks and Tim Krul's addition has also helped while Niki Maenpaa is another option.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's clash with Everton, the 25-year-old has talked up the competition for places, admitting it is helping everyone to improve.
"It's great for the club to have as much competition as possible in every position," he told the club's official website. "It raises the levels of your performances in training and in matches. You're pushing each other to the best that you can play and that's only going to complement the team going forward.
"If someone needs to be replaced or someone's form is not as strong, it's always going to keep you on your toes and hopefully help us to achieve more success going forward."
